33rd birthday. A few films from the festival will play in between tributes made by some of
our local filmmakers and Billabong has sent us a compilation of tributes directed and
edited by Matt Beauchesne. Footage Provided by Mike Prickett, Billabong, Irons
Brothers Productions, Run Man, Phil and Danielle Irons Photos by Billabong, Pat Stacy,
Jason Kenworthy, Brian Bielmann, and Phil and Danielle Irons, Motion Graphics by Jeff
Motyll, Music by Florence & the Machines, Muse, and M83.

Here is a taste:

Tribute to Andy Irons by Billy Grace

"Te Mana o Te Moana"  - Produced and directed by Brady Cushway,  Narrated by
Olivia. A glimpse of  the voyaging canoes that visited Hanalei on their historic trip to alert
the world on the issues of the ocean environment  and  the honors they presented to
our local Kupuna for perpetuating our endangered cultures through hokupu’u and
hakas. This will be the film's Premier.

The Premier of Emi Cataldi's "Mayumba ~ Equator Flavored Pointbreaks on the Edge of
Africa" (24 min.) features Sam Bleakley, Erwan Simon, and Hawaii's own Randy Rarick

Winning for “Strangest Film submitted in 2011,”
"Fishin’ For Arnold" ~ Pixel One Productions 3 - min.

Winning 2nd Place for Ocean Recreation, "Drop Zone: Fiji"
Follows pro surfers Holly Beck, Cheyne Magnusson, Alex Gray, Maria Del Mar and Bede
Durbidge on a South Pacific adventure. The crew heads out in search of pristine dive
locations to chase down some of the most epic surf on the planet, including Cloudbreak
on Tavarua. SCUBA dive (cage free) with bull sharks, vibrant fish and friendly turtles.
But its not all fish and games when they head to Frigates Passage. The pumping swells
flips a boat, loses thousands of dollars in equipment and almost takes out the director.
